Dear Families: Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND—as always—every purchase at the Fair benefits our school. Here’s what you need to know about the big event, which will take place: February 23 - March 1 in the PES Library. Classes will visit the Book Fair during their library period. See the schedule in the link. Students will be able to browse and buy books during this time. Attached is a list of some of the books that will be available at the Book Fair. You can help your student fill out the order form and bring it to the Book Fair, or you can send money and let your student choose books for him/herself. (Please put money in an envelope with your child’s name.) You can also do ewallet so that your child does not lose his/her money. (See attached sheet.) This list does not include every book available at the Book Fair. You can also order online. The link is on the PES website. You may come and shop with your child during their library time. Pencils, pens, erasers, bookmarks, and small toys are also sold at the Book Fair. Please send a note if you have special instructions for your student regarding what they may buy. Proceeds from the Book Fair will be used to purchase books and materials for our school library media center. Please help us make our sale a success! Please do not send large bags of change. We will not be open before or after school. Class Schedule for Visiting the Book Fair Classes will visit the Book Fair on their library day. Clicklink to see the schedule. If possible, please try to let your student bring money on that day. If it is necessary for your student to bring money on another day, we will work with his or her teacher to allow them time to visit the Book Fair. Friday, March 1st the Book Fair will be open until 11:00 for those who have not gotten to shop. It will close for pack up at 11:00. Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy. If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping: The countdown to more Bookjoy is on! Catch you at the Fair! Happy reading, Mrs. Durham, Librarian
